The Berlin studio "cordula kafka - light & porcelain" combines light and porcelain to atmospheric lamps and luminaires with an exceptionally warm translucence. Thus, porcelain-veneered sheets of paper float through the space, moon-like objects spread dynamically on walls and ceilings, and light becomes equal to painting and sculpture alike.
In collaboration with German lighting manufacturers and lighting technicians, the designers develop formally minimal and technically sophisticated solutions, which give the traditional material china space to unfold and at the same time provide for modern lighting. The high-quality small series and exclusive special lighting are suitable for private homes, as well as hotels, bars and restaurants, and set special accents in the room.
Under designer Cordula Kafka, the Berlin studio has been designing lamps made of porcelain for almost 15 years now. German manufacturers using traditional and partly newly developed techniques implement the lamps afterwards. As a master pupil of the Berliner Kunsthochschule, the founder can look back on a great deal of experience with the classical material. Cordula Kafka is primarily fascinated and inspired by the delicacy and permeability of the material. "Cordula kafka - light & porcelain" produces for customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, GB, Morocco, USA and Hong Kong.
