The Berlin based studio "NEO / CRAFT" designs and manufactures exceptional home accessories, furniture and lighting.
In the combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern manufacturing techniques, material, form and function are questioned, sampled and redesigned to create unique and surprising products. At the centre of the development processes, there is the continuous search for new design possibilities with classical materials such as aluminium, steel, glass and wood. The manufactory does not follow a specific design language but defines itself by its particular approach. The design objects of the studio are an expression of individuality and functionality. Forms, functions, and materials are decrypted to reassemble them into new independent objects.
Sebastian Scherer, a native of Aachen, moved to Berlin after his studies and worked there as a designer for various architects and design offices. In 2012, the aluminium table designed by him was nominated for the design prize of the Federal Republic of Germany. With his innovative lamp "Iris" he also won the Lexus Design Award 2014. From these promising design work, as a logical consequence, the idea of founding an own furniture label came up and was put into practice.
