The history of the textiles manufactory Ege is closely linked to the tradition-steeped linen weaving mill on the Swabian Montains. Over the decades the manufactory has developed into an expert for custom-fitted, handmade and extraordinarily beautiful table and bed linen as well as custom-tailored shirts. A fine collection of accessories completes their product portfolio.
Artisan know-how and highest standards of quality and perfection determine the fine textiles that are produced at the Ulm studios. Splendid brocade damast, delicately woven premium Giza cotton, enthusiasts’ fabrics like herringbone, pure linen from Flanders, rare Guipure laces – well-trained and experienced textile practitioners implement individual requests with the utmost precision and loving care. Under their hands picture-perfect seams emerge with cover corners, they gather and sew hollows by hand while buttonholes become little artworks. They stitch and embroider jumping fish, genteel monograms, noble emblems, fine snowflakes, they embellish cushions with l-cords, blinds or finest edgings. They apply landscapes onto table linen or rose leaves onto duvets and hand-stitch precious laces into perfectly round-cut tablecloths that catch one’s eye by virtue of their even arrangement of the folds.
Since the founding of the manufactory in 1930 the family business has established and specialized itself successfully. Today, the textile manufactory is managed by the third generation. Christoph Ege puts special emphasis on connecting traditional craft with contemporary requirements in order to beautify the everyday life and make festive days unforgettable.
